This project consisted of a phased construction program at an existing facility while maintaining uninterrupted court and county administration functions. The project included the construction of a 93,000 SF two-story addition, the renovation of 20,000 square feet of an attached existing building, the demolition of the 1930 Courthouse Building and construction of the main entrance lobby area and plaza entrance.
The new addition is made up of Beaver County Administrative and Departmental offices, a Sheriff’s holding facility and three (3) additional courtrooms along with judges’ chambers and support courtroom staff offices.
The 93,000 sq. ft. addition consisted of a steel framed structure on auger-cast concrete piles
with a limestone veneer exterior wall system. Interior construction consisted of masonry and gypsum board walls with various finish treatments, acoustical tile/gypsum board ceilings and floor finishes.
The addition and renovated areas also included new HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler, electrical power distribution and telephone/ data cabling systems.
