The scope of work included removal/ replacement of the full-depth pavement section associated with Deicing Pad “C,” Taxiway C and portions of Taxiway B1. The project also included removal of the existing deicing collection system consisting of trench drains, stormwater collection pipes, manholes, inlets, diversion structures, pumps, instrumentation, and storage tanks.
The scope of construction included full width/depth reconstruction of the PCC full strength deicing pad and taxiway pavement. The existing pavement, stabilized base, and subbase were removed and replaced with 16” PCC pavement on 6” stabilized base and new subbase.
Work also included installation of a new deicing collection system including a liner system, stormwater collection pipes, diversion structures, pumps, instrumentation and storage tanks. The work also consisted of grooving the new PCC pavement at the deicing pad, upgrades to existing airfield lighting and signage, new pavement markings & taxiway shoulder reconstruction consisting of 4” bituminous surface course on 4” aggregate base course and variable depth subbase. Two (2) additional alternates were included for widening of Taxiway T at Taxiway C and for a snow pad area adjacent to Taxiway C.
