North Park Spray Park

This project consisted of the construction of a new Spray Park and replacement of the existing baby pool pump equipment in Allegheny County’s North Park. Work included construction of a new concrete pavement area approximately 75’ long by 55’ wide to serve as the “spray park” adjacent to the existing baby pool. The area was graded to raise the elevation of the spray pad to provide drainage into the existing water recirculation system of the baby pool. The spray pad was constructed using integrally colored concrete with an 18” deep curb and 4” slab in the approximate footprint of the existing baby pool. A portion of the existing concrete baby pool deck was replaced with new 4” concrete and sidewalks connecting to the spray pad. The spray pad included 12 spray features to provide various types of spray patterns and intersections. Finally, the project included installation of 6 shade umbrellas around the existing baby pool.

The contract also included concrete spall repairs to the existing bleacher grandstand and structural steel repairs to the existing bleacher structure.

The project value was $634,000.00
